About the Role The Shipping Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Packing & Shipping area, providing leadership across shifts while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to improve safety, productivity, equipment reliability, and cost control. Roles & Responsibilities Lead daily Packing & Shipping operations across all shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance. Troubleshoot operating, quality, and mechanical issues and identify equipment, SOP, and training improvements. Develop and communicate clear daily operating instructions and maintain accurate activity logs. Manage the department budget, including overtime, supplies, and service costs. Lead the training, development, and performance of Shipping personnel to optimize manpower utilization. Partner with Maintenance and Operations to identify equipment issues, prioritize repairs, and improve reliability. Develop and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and investment plans to improve performance and reduce downtime. Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and control costs. Promote compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain effective communication between shifts and departments to ensure continuity of operations. Support continuous improvement initiatives and other plant projects as needed. About You Qualifications: Leadership experience in a manufacturing, industrial, shipping, or distribution environment. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to understand operating, quality, and mechanical aspects of industrial equipment. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop employees. Experience managing budgets and controlling operating costs. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in cement, aggregate, building materials, or heavy industrial manufacturing. Previous experience managing Packing, Shipping, Distribution, or Warehouse operations. Experience with packaged or bulk cement products and industrial material-handling equipment. Experience supervising employees across multiple shifts. Knowledge of preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement practices.
