Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced inpatient PACU/Preop Day Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role requires prior ICU or Emergency Department (ED) experience. The selected candidate will provide care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and will assist with preoperative patients.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Cancellations may occur but will follow DNR protocol.
• Sunday night is not considered a weekend.
• Call and weekend coverage will be required (approximately every other or every third weekend).
• Floating to PACU, Main PACU, and GI Lab is necessary.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Management of patients in Phase I and II PACU.
• Post-operative patient assessment and monitoring.
• Administration and monitoring of medications, including sedation and analgesics.
• Recognition and management of dysrhythmias.
• Patient education and discharge instructions.
• Effective communication and interpretation of lab values.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Knowledge and application of protocols for various surgical procedures including but not limited to:



• Cholecystectomy
• Tonsillectomy
• Mastectomy
• General and Laparoscopic surgeries
• Orthopedic and Urological procedures

Experience Requirements

• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Experience with a variety of surgical patients, including pediatric patients.
• Comfort with emergency interventions such as CPR and intubation.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where flexibility and adaptability are essential. Candidates should be prepared to float as necessary based on patient care needs.
