While BDO prides itself on the Firm’s work quality, it equally values work/life fit for its professionals, allowing them to focus on what’s important to them outside the office.The Transaction Advisory Services Experienced Manager will be responsible for managing financial, accounting and operational due diligence engagements for both strategic and financial buyers throughout the United States.Job Duties:Plans and oversees the due diligence process and applies knowledge and application of BDO standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality services and productsAnalyzes financial forecasts, historical earnings, assets and liabilities of target clientPerforms industry and company researchCollects information from all available sources related to the target client’s business, securities, intellectual properties, real estate and other assetsConducts on-site and / or phone interviews with C-level personnel or target client to gather additional information in support of the financial analysisAssists in identifying risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines and functional areasIdentifies and proposes appropriate resolutions to critical issues related to the M&A processComposes financial analysis report for presentations to assist target clients in evaluating M&A decisionsManages the relationship and information flow between BDO and the target clientPartners with Transactional Services Senior Manager and Principal/Director to identify and pursue business development opportunities through industry and network relationshipsResearches and develops proposal documents and may participate in presentations in pursuit of acquiring new clientsOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:Schedules and supervises the tasks and project assignments of (Senior) Analysts Reviews work product prepared by (Senior) Analysts and provides review commentsActs as a Career Advisor to (Senior) Analysts by identifying and providing on-the-job and formal training and professional development opportunities Provides verbal and written performance feedback to (Senior) Analysts throughout the fiscal year and as part of the annual performance review processQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance, requiredMBA, preferredExperience:Six (6) or more years of public accounting experience, requiredThree (3) or more years of prior TAS experience, preferredPrior experience interacting and working directly with C-level personnel, preferredLicense/Certifications:CPA, CPA candidate, or CA, preferred Software:Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint, requiredPrior exposure utilizing IDEA is beneficial, preferredLanguage:N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically business writing aptitudeAbility to interact with and adapt communication style to successfully convey messaging and objectives to all levels of management Exhibits executive presence Capable of initiating and maintaining solid relationships with all levels of client personnel, as well as utilizing network and industry relationships to identify business development opportunitiesCapable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment either independently or within a team dynamic while effectively managing unexpected issues and/or questions in a professional manner Ability to analyze large volumes of data to identify potential issues and propose the most appropriate resolutions to benefit the buyer Required to maintain the highly confidential nature of informationExcellent project management skills with ability to produce quality work project with an attention to detailSolid knowledge of technical accounting areas such as US GAAP and SEC reportingKnowledge of IFRS desirableAbility to travel as neededIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.Massachusetts Range: $130,000 - $160,000New Jersey Range: $130,000 - $160,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $170,000At BDO, how we show up matters.
