Job Description

Job Title: Machinist
Pay: $19-$23 per hour (based on experience)
Shift: 1st or 2nd Shift
Location: Taylor
Primary Purpose & Function
The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machining equipment to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machines (lathe, mill, drill press, etc.)
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
• Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and tolerances
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues
• Deburr, clean, and finish machined parts as needed
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Meet daily production goals and quality standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous machining experience preferred (CNC or manual)
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift
• Lift up to 40-50 lbs as needed
• Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive motion
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, etc.)

Safety Equipment / PPE

• Steel-toe boots required
• Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as needed
