Tissue Processing Technician

Altasciences seeks a Tissue Processing Technician in Columbia, Missouri to prepare tissue samples for scientific research. No prior histology experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship provided to develop laboratory technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic evaluation
- Perform staining procedures including Hematoxylin & Eosin staining
- Prepare microscope slides using microtomy and sectioning equipment
- Maintain laboratory equipment, documentation, and inventory
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Interest in science, laboratory work, or research
- Ability to learn technical skills and follow detailed procedures
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Basic mathematics skills
