SIMULATOR TECHNICIAN

Simulator Maintenance Technician The Simulator Maintenance Technician is responsible for all periodic and unscheduled maintenance for the MH-139 simulator. Candidates for this position should have comprehensive knowledge and experience to solve complex or system problems: those typically solved solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar documents. Key Responsibilities: Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems, those typically solved by properly interpreting maintenance manuals or similar documents. Receives limited technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. Capable of interpreting and working with computer systems utilizing various and multiple operating systems. Maintains required documentation of maintenance activities. Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and documents maintenance activities utilizing the logistics management data base system. Documenting maintenance activities includes but is not limited to: work order generation and updates, repair action documentation, issuing, returning, and adjusting inventory, insuring inventory records are up to date and accurate, and other material control duties as assigned. Diagnoses malfunctions of computers and associated equipment and performs operability/readiness tests and repair. Performs systems interface/fault isolation. Applies fundamental troubleshooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers. Interprets mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and make simplified versions. Conducts voice communications on phone, inter-phone and radio circuits. Provides networking and information systems support on training devices and networks. Implements basic modifications to existing simulators. Other duties as identified and assigned. Required Qualifications/Experience: 3-5 years experience working as a simulator technician Knowledge of windows and Linux, can use simple editors, and can navigate directory structures and files etc. Security Plus certificate will be required within 6 months of employment. Security Responsibilities: Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team. Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills: Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds. Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders. Must be able to accommodate confined spaces. Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under equipment. Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment. Must be able to distinguish colors. Shop floor environment. Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
