Description:

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the program and supervising direct support staff to ensure high-quality services are provided to individuals served by Ability Family Services. This position ensures compliance with organizational policies, applicable Regional Center requirements, and documentation standards while supporting the effective implementation of each individual's Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned program.
• Ensure program services are delivered in compliance with applicable Title 17 regulations and North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) requirements.
• Coordinate with the Regional Center and other appropriate parties regarding the implementation of consumer Individual Program Plan (IPP) objectives for which the program is responsible.
• Monitor and assess the program's effectiveness in supporting individuals in achieving established IPP objectives.
• Identify barriers affecting an individual's progress toward IPP objectives and assist with developing and implementing appropriate solutions in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Promote consistent, person-centered service delivery that supports each individual's needs, goals, preferences, and independence.

Staff Supervision and Management

• Supervise, train, coach, and support assigned direct support staff.
• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and separation of employees, as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and continuity of services.
• Monitor staff attendance, performance, documentation, and compliance with program expectations.
• Provide ongoing guidance, support, and performance oversight to staff providing services in the community.
• Conduct or coordinate staff training and ensure employees understand program requirements, individual needs, and assigned responsibilities.
• Address employee performance or operational concerns promptly and escalate matters to management or Human Resources when appropriate.

Administrative and Documentation Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to complex administrative and clerical assignments requiring sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to Ability Family Services policies, procedures, and program requirements.
• Maintain, update, organize, and file individual program records and documentation.
• Review required daily documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Follow up with staff regarding missing, incomplete, or inaccurate documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and individual information in accordance with applicable requirements and company policies.

Additional Responsibilities

• Exercise sound judgment, independence, and initiative in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with individuals served, employees, management, families, Regional Center representatives, and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
• Immediately report significant incidents, safety concerns, compliance concerns, or other matters requiring management attention.
• Support a safe, professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support individuals served and overall program operations.

Requirements:

 

Education and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field , OR
• One (1) year of experience in a comparable program , in addition to three (3) years of experience in a human services delivery system .

Required Certifications and Clearances

• Successful Department of Justice (DOJ) background clearance .
• Current First Aid and CPR certification .
• Current TB clearance .
• Valid California Driver’s License .
• Valid automobile insurance , if driving is required as part of the position.

Additional Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
