Position Title Physician - Breast Surgical Oncologist Bell Hospital, Indian Creek Main, Westwood Medical Pavilion - West Position Summary Physician - Breast Surgical Oncologist – Faculty The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Breast Surgical Oncologist to join our highly skilled academic surgical faculty at our NCI‑Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position is ideal for a surgeon committed to academic excellence, multidisciplinary cancer care, and advancing the field through research, innovation, and education. Required Qualifications MD, DO or equivalent Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery Completion of a specialized fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship or Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship with a breast emphasis Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri Robust Academic Environment Faculty in the Division of Breast Surgical Oncology participate in a vibrant academic ecosystem that includes: Research Infrastructure & Support Full access to research support, including abstraction, medical writing, and grant development A Comprehensive Clinical Trials Office with opportunities for participation in investigator‑initiated and cooperative group trials Availability of translational research laboratory start‑up resources for surgeons pursuing basic or translational research programs Education & Training Teaching and mentoring responsibilities with: An SSO‑accredited Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship (one fellow per year) General Surgery residents (six per year) Medical students from the University of Kansas School of Medicine Faculty are encouraged to engage in curriculum development, lecture series, operative and clinical teaching, and scholarly educational contributions.
