WebSphere MQ Administrator / Chicago, IL ( Onsite), 8+ Months Contract

Job Title Required Job Qualifications: The candidate must have a high level of motivation in learning new technologies and software products and reviewing these technologies for enhancements to the current middleware environment. Job responsibilities will include the following: design and installation of IBM MQ and/or WebSphere Application Server, deploying enterprise applications, installation and configuration of new platform, configuring or modifying platform, proactively monitoring the health of environment, configuring and managing the security of the platform. Job will also entail monitoring, optimizing, tuning and troubleshooting MQ and/or WebSphere applications. The successful candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in MQ and its related components. The candidate will be a self-motivated individual who works well with groups and independently with minimal supervision to achieve stated goals and project tasks. Job Purpose: This position is responsible for collaborating with Solutions Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Infrastructure Service Management teams in the design and build of infrastructure solutions/blueprints for area of responsibility; participating in the design and build of repeatable patterns (build-kits) to improve deployment times for non-prod and prod environments; transitioning knowledge to Infrastructure Operations. Work with mid and upper level management team under minimal supervision, as a senior level WebSphere/MQ Administrator, implement manage, and monitor multiple WebSphere environments. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree and 4 years in Information Technology or relevant experience OR Technical Certification and/or College Courses and 6 year Information Technology experience OR 8 years Information Technology experience. Infrastructure Automation (such ansible tool preferred) Operations Management and IT standards, procedures, and policies Experts level knowledge of IBM MQ in design, installation, fixpack upgrade, migration, and configuration Experts level knowledge with MQ horizontal/vertical Clustering Ability to simplify & standardize complex concepts / processes Understanding of business priorities (e.g., vision), trends (e.g., industry knowledge) and markets (e.g., existing/ planned) Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required; teamwork and collaboration Problem solving / analytical skills, tools and techniques with experience in troubleshooting MQ issues as well as other complex MQ and WebSphere performance issues Knowledge with Dynatrace Ability to create long and short term plan and prioritize tasks and make trade-off decisions Ability to drive cross functional executions and manage project schedule Adaptability and ability to introduce / manage change with ServiceNow and Jira Basic knowledge with container and IBM CP4I preferred Basic understanding of AIX/RedHat/Windows administration and including basic shell scripting Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor*s Degree (Computer Science, MIS, or related degrees) Suncap Technology
