This paid program assists with the transition from classroom to bedside through a series of learning experiences including advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, simulation-based skill evaluation, mentorship, and evidence-based practice projects. Start dates are flexible and run every two weeks throughout the year. What will you do in this role Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient for therapeutic response, and intervene as appropriate. Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating and resolving patient needs proactively. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment Additional certifications may be required during employment Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing completed prior to start date; may apply up to 8 months in advance Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State; licensure prior to start date per State of Kansas guidelines No previous experience required Menorah Medical Center is a full-service, 150+ bed acute care hospital in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas.
