CNC Machine Operator- Weekend Shift

Position Type Full-time Job Description CNC Operator Position Purpose: The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision parts. This position ensures products meet quality standards, specifications, and production timelines while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Functions: Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or other equipment) according to work instructions and setup parameters Load raw materials and unload finished parts safely and efficiently Monitor machine operations and identify any irregularities or malfunctions Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Document production results and report any quality or production issues to supervisors Adjust machine offsets or settings within authorized limits to maintain part quality Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE Assist with basic machine maintenance and tool changes as needed Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals Actively participate in efforts to establish andpromote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and proceduresfor the reduction and elimination of work-related accidents and providequality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and condition Education and Training: High school diploma or GED required Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic blueprints Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to use measuring tools with accuracy Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Experience operating CNC equipment in a production environment Familiarity with machine controls and basic offset adjustments Knowledge of machining concepts and tooling Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to follow instructions and work independently Effective communication and teamwork skills Good organizational and time-management abilities Focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, climb or balance and stoop. Frequent twisting, turning, reaching, bending, pulling and pushing are also required. The employee must be able to handle up to 60 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision Environmental Conditions: Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and metal materials Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots Attention to Detail: Precision is crucial when loading baggage and cargo, ensuring weight distribution and safety. Team Player: Often works in coordination with others, so strong collaboration skills are essential. Physical Stamina: Requires physical strength and endurance to handle heavy loads and work in various weather conditions. Adaptability: Needs to adjust to changing schedules and last-minute demands efficiently. Time Management: Must work quickly and efficiently to meet tight timelines, especially in aviation. Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of addressing unexpected issues, such as delays or equipment malfunctions. Safety Consciousness: Prioritizes safety protocols to protect themselves and others, as well as the cargo being loaded. Communication Skills: Clear communication is vital to coordinate with team members and other airport staff. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with loading equipment and technology to operate machinery safely and efficiently. Resilience: Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain a positive attitude, despite challenges. Rate: In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the hourly payrate for this position is $19.00-$20.50.
