Fire Protection Sales Engineer

HRS Systems is a leading provider of software for fire protection engineering. Our flagship product, HASS (Hydraulic Analyzer of Sprinkler Systems), and its cloud platform, HASS Cloud, are trusted worldwide for the hydraulic analysis of water-based suppression systems. Role Overview As HRS Systems grows HASS Cloud, we are expanding our technical sales capability. As part of the sales engineering team, you will combine strong product knowledge with customer-facing sales skills to help prospects evaluate HASS Cloud, run effective demonstrations, develop opportunities, and support customers through the buying process. This is a full-time, remote position. Core Responsibilities Product expertise Develop deep expertise in HASS Cloud and be ready to demonstrate the product confidently in live customer conversations. Stay current on new capabilities and understand how to position them effectively with prospects and customers. Sales Run product demonstrations that move prospects toward a decision, not walkthroughs that simply list features. Develop and manage assigned prospects and trial opportunities, including follow-up on trade-show and marketing leads, with a focus on converting interest into paying customers. Handle objections and tough questions in a way that builds trust in the product. Marketing and content that drives sales Contribute to customer-facing demonstrations, videos, and other technical sales content. Help develop sales materials that support prospect engagement and the sales pipeline. Partner on marketing and website efforts where product knowledge adds value. Customer support Support prospects and customers with product questions during evaluation and adoption. Help renew and expand existing accounts. Escalate genuine technical issues to the development team promptly. Expectations and Standards These are the standards the role is held to, and where strong performance is most valued. Demonstrations and sales materials should reflect realistic customer use cases, communicate value clearly, and represent HRS professionally. The team regularly shares and reviews effective approaches so we can continue improving how we sell. What the Role Requires The drive and ability to become a genuine product expert. The product is learnable, and mastering it quickly is the foundation of everything else. Strong customer-facing and sales communication skills, including the confidence to demonstrate the product live, on camera, and answer questions on the spot. Working knowledge of water-based fire suppression and hydraulic calculation concepts, or the willingness and ability to learn them quickly. For this product, we would rather hire a sharp sprinkler designer who can learn to sell than a generic software salesperson who cannot talk about the work. Ability to learn content creation such as videos, written materials, and email, and using modern software tools to produce it efficiently. Self-direction. The ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage your own time and priorities. Helpful Background Familiarity with HASS and HASS Cloud. Understanding of NFPA water-based suppression standards. Experience with fire sprinkler system layout and hydraulic calculations. Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit. NICET Level II or III in water-based systems layout, CFPS, or CWBFPS certification. Compensation and Incentives This position is paid as a base salary plus commission. Strong performance in developing new business and expanding customer relationships directly increases your earning.
