Services range from architecture, planning, interiors to sustainable design. Role Description: The Job Captain role at SIM Architects, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Lafayette, CA. The Job Captain coordinates day-to-day project activities, including developing detailed construction documents, managing Revit/CAD production, and organizing project files and documentation. This role supports the Project Architect and Project Manager with technical detailing, code research, and preparation of drawings and specifications from schematic design through construction administration. The Job Captain collaborates closely with internal team members and external consultants to ensure design intent, quality standards, schedules, and budgets are maintained. Additional responsibilities include participating in client meetings, assisting with agency submittals, and supporting project closeout tasks. Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in architectural production tools such as Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite, with strong 2D/3D drafting, graphics, and modeling skills. Solid understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and technical documentation, including experience preparing documents across various project phases. Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including managing deadlines, documentation, consultant communications, and multi-phase project workflows. Effective collaboration and communication abilities, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams and participating in client and consultant meetings. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field; progress toward licensure or architectural registration is preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience with educational, residential, institutional, or community-focused projects and familiarity with sustainable design principles are beneficial. Ability to work on-site in Lafayette, CA, handle multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail within a fast-paced studio environment.
