Systems Administrator Experienced With High-Performance Computing Tools
Long Island based Financial Firm seeks a Systems Administrator experienced with High-Performance Computing tools.
This is a permanent direct hire opportunity. The schedule is on-site 5 days a week in Port Jefferson, NY.
Compensation is competitive including base + bonus and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, support, and troubleshoot Linux server and desktop infrastructure; document IT infrastructure, policies, and procedures; and perform general user support
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting Linux servers and desktops
- Experience with HPC tools like Slurm, LSF, PBS, or something similar
- Thorough understanding of systems and network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, and UNIX/Linux system internals (kernel, drivers, file systems, virtual memory)
- Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field
Plus
- Experience deploying and supporting open source and proprietary infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Radius, NFS, Kerberos, OpenSSL), integrating them into the existing infrastructure, and debugging and patching them
- Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open source tools for system and security monitoring and management on UNIX/Linux platforms
- Knowledge of scripting to automate tasks
Anticipated base 250-300k +/-, + significant bonus potential
