We work together each day to foster an inclusive workplace culture where all of our employees feel respected, valued and have an opportunity to contribute to the company’s success. As a Corporate Facilities Engineer I within PNC's Realty Services organization, you will be based in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC or Houston, TX. Role Overview This position is responsible for leading and overseeing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) aspects of new construction and renovation projects across PNC’s retail and corporate portfolio. The role combines engineering oversight, design review, construction support, and operational integration to ensure retail banks and commercial office buildings are safe, functional, cost-effective, and maintainable over their lifecycle. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Project Engineering & Design Oversight

  • Manages all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Serves as the primary reviewer of test fits and design development documents, with a focus on system performance, constructability, cost, and long-term maintainability.
  • Conducts detailed reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals throughout the design process to ensure alignment with PNC standards and project objectives.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of external engineers, consultants, and contractors to support successful project delivery.
  • Ensures conformance to all applicable municipal codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Leverages peer Engineer Managers (Facilities Engineers) to perform site visits and field verification within assigned markets.
  • Supports issue resolution during construction to maintain schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
________________________________________ Standards Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Helps develop, maintain, and continuously improve MEPF design and construction standards, with a focus on system reliability, lifecycle cost, energy performance, and maintainability.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance standardization, efficiency, and overall building performance across the portfolio.
  • Evaluates and supports the implementation of new technologies and solutions that improve operational outcomes.
________________________________________ Facilities Engineering & Operations Support
  • Supports facility operations and maintenance initiatives related to MEPF infrastructure across the portfolio.
  • Participates in inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) programs to ensure building systems remain safe and functional.
  • Assists with vendor management, contract performance oversight, and service delivery improvements.

  • Strong expertise in construction drawing review, specification development, and document markup is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint required.
  • Ability to evaluate engineering designs for performance, code compliance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.

  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and exercise peer leadership in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence design and construction outcomes across stakeholders.
