Distribution Associates / Forklift

We are hiring Distribution Associates. The best fit is someone that has general warehouse, shipping / receiving experience with Forklift Operation. The company is a global manufacturer and distributor of climate control products for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration markets.

• Primarily operating stand-up forklifts. Requires at least 2 year of standup forklift and 4 years sit down forklift experience.
• We believe in safety first so the first 5 - 8 days will be computer-based safety training. This training comes with a test after every module and is designed to teach the company way.
• After completion of safety training, they will begin work on the floor with receiving and shipping small parts and general housekeeping. This is a warehouse position, not just a forklift position.
• Forklift training will begin during their fourth week of employment. Forklift certification will be done by a trainer.

PAY RATE: 20.00 hour
LOCATION: Sacramento, CA 95837
Workdays: Monday - Friday (approximately 5-6 Saturdays per year, based on business needs)

• Schedule 1: 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM (1 position)
• Schedule 2: 6:00 am - 2:30 PM (1 position)
• Schedule 3: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (1 position)

Includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. We are currently averaging 40 hours per week. During peak season, employees can expect 5-10 hours of overtime per week, with some Saturdays required (a minimum of two weeks' notice will be provided).


DUTIES:

• Under general supervision, performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products.
• Receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment, and inspects condition.
• Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used. Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
• Routes materials, supplies and equipment to inspection or stock areas.
• Completes written and computerized documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Drug Test
• Background Check
• Requires at least 2 year of standup forklift and 4 years sit down forklift experience.
• FOOTWEAR REQUIRED- Employees are required to wear safety footwear meeting the minimum ASTM Standard F-2413-18 Standard Performance Requirements for Protective (Safety) Toe Cap Footwear and include puncture resistant soles during hours of employment.

ABILITIES:

• Knows typical shipping and receiving procedures and can handle some exceptions.
• Requires basic reading, writing and numerical ability.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record may be required.
• Able to operate powered equipment such as forklift or hydraulic jack lift.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
