We are looking for team members who are ready to be empowered to go above and beyond.Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Executive ChefJOB SUMMARY The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas. This role supports the team by ensuring a safe and sanitary environment, contributing to the overall operations of the hotel's food and beverage department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONSOperational Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items.Assist with inventory management and stocking of supplies.Guest Services Ensure timely and efficient cleaning to support food service operations.Maintain a positive and professional attitude with guests and team members.Team Support and Training Assist in training new kitchen stewards as needed.Support team performance by collaborating with colleagues.Communication and Reporting Communicate effectively with the executive chef and other kitchen staff.Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately.Safety & Compliance Follow all hotel policies and procedures.Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.Monitor and report chemical levels to the ChefQualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSStrong verbal and written communication skillsEffective time management and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detailExcellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilitiesPrevious experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is preferredPhysical RequirementsSitting: OccasionalStanding/Walking: Frequent, including standing for long periodsLifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs, such as kitchen supplies and equipmentOther Physical Requirements: Handling, grasping, and crouching as neededWorking EnvironmentInterior: Kitchen and food preparation areasBASICSMaintain cleanliness and organization in all food and beverage areasDisplay courteous behavior with guests and team membersReport any unsafe conditions immediatelyEnsure kitchen equipment is in proper working conditionPerform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisorCANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is a plus
