Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Level 3)

Location

New York, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 nights per week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

Provide immediate and efficient nursing care to patients presenting with life-threatening injuries or illnesses in the emergency department
Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize patients, determining and initiating appropriate courses of treatment
Rotate between the Emergency Department (2 nights per week) and Medical-Surgical unit (1 night per week) — this schedule rotation is non-negotiable
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care
Apply knowledge of emergency medicine, critical care, and trauma care to manage high-acuity patient populations
Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and families while maintaining professional boundaries

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Demonstrated clinical experience in both Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical nursing
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required
TNNC certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience working in a high-volume, Level 3 emergency department setting
Ability to remain calm and make accurate clinical decisions in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Strong communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
