Engineering Aide

We are seeking an Engineering Aide to support our engineering staff by handling tasks that allow them to focus on higher-skilled analysis and design work. This role is essential in ensuring the efficiency of our engineering team by taking on various support tasks at a lower cost. An ideal candidate might have an AA degree from a technical school, although it is not mandatory. The position is suitable for individuals with experience in planning, engineering assistance, or even executive administration with strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Use Excel to create spreadsheets for tracking manpower on programs and projects.
• Perform procurement and purchasing activities.
• Edit and process word documents.
• Assist with various administrative tasks to alleviate the workload of engineering staff.
• Work independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to push tasks through to completion using professional persistence and diplomacy.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.
• Experience with MS Office, including word processing.
• Ability to work independently and ask for help when needed.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AA or AS degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with DOORS is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Python scripting and data analysis.
• Understanding of CAD PDM, drawing release process, and checklist.
• Experience with procurement and planning.
• Knowledge of MOTS/BOMS from a CNC shop and drafting/document control.

Work Environment

This position is based in an engineering design office, laboratory, and small fabrication shop. The work schedule follows a 9/80 system, allowing for an 80-hour workweek with every other Friday off. The role is part of the propulsion engineering team, contributing directly to launches for military, missile defense, and scientific missions, including space station resupply.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
