District Support Pharmacist - Full Time

DSPs play a critical role cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as a role model, covering scheduling gaps, and supporting pharmacy management. Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator. Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the team. Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty is absent. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassionate care and coaching the pharmacy team. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adherence to best practices, especially cold chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing medical education. Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services, where permissible. Understand and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly between tasks. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety. Customer service orientation: help people, respond appropriately to patient reactions, communicate effectively. Mathematical reasoning: calculate dispensation quantities and totals. Problem resolution: handle challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical demands: stay mobile, lift, bend, reach, and maintain visual acuity for tasks. Communicate instructions accurately and receive detailed information orally. Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $60.00 – $76.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
