Senior Security Architect

Senior Security Architect (Azure / Cloud Security) Salary: Up to £75,000 base (DOE) + Up to 10% bonus Location: Remote / Home-based with occasional client travel We’re supporting a cybersecurity consultancy that is growing its security architecture practice , and they’re looking for a Senior Security Architect with strong Azure and Microsoft security experience . This role sits at the intersection of cloud security architecture, consulting, and enterprise transformation . You’ll be working with organisations that are modernising their platforms across Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid cloud and on-prem environments , helping them embed security into architecture from the outset. This isn’t a governance-only role, they’re looking for someone comfortable translating security principles into real technical architecture . As a Senior Security Architect , you’ll work directly with clients to design and deliver security architecture across complex environments. Typical responsibilities include: Designing secure Azure and Microsoft cloud architectures , including identity, network, and platform security Leading security architecture engagements across cloud and hybrid environments Producing technical deliverables such as threat models, risk assessments, security design documentation and architecture blueprints Aligning architecture with recognised frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, NCSC CAF and Cyber Essentials Acting as a technical advisor to client engineering and leadership teams Supporting cloud transformation programmes where security needs to be embedded from design through to implementation You’ll be working with organisations across multiple sectors, so the work is varied and often complex. They’re looking for someone who can combine technical depth with strong architecture thinking . Key experience includes: Designing security architecture across Azure and Microsoft cloud environments Strong understanding of identity, access control, network security, logging/monitoring and platform security in Azure Experience producing architecture artefacts (threat modelling, design documents, security blueprints) Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and control frameworks Experience working in consulting, advisory, or client-facing environments Experience across Microsoft security tooling (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Microsoft 365 security stack) would be highly beneficial. Certifications (desirable) Microsoft security certifications are particularly valued, including: SC-100 – Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect SC-900 – Microsoft Security Fundamentals AZ-305 – Azure Solutions Architect Additional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SABSA, TOGAF or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer are also beneficial.
