Take the next step in your career with us!Position Specific DescriptionWelcome to Early-Stage Solar Engineering & Construction (E&C)You will work for the largest renewable construction company in the world working mostly independently as business and project support in collaboration with the Solar Regional Lead Project Manager. Daily activities can include, but are not limited to:Primary responsibility is to take ownership of and work independently to actively manage a portfolio of assigned Solar projects through the Early-Stage process in preparation for turnover to the Construction team.Leverage technical, commercial, and financial expertise to support and guide the broader team towards overall project, business unit, and/or corporate targets.Analyze technical and financial data, extrapolate notable variables, indicators, and trends.Proactively investigate, calibrate, and integrate broader market impacts into your portfolio of projects.Daily management of each assigned Solar project is all-encompassing. You are wholly responsible for delivering a technically feasibility, schedule appropriate, commercially supported, and financially viable project.Serve as development and permitting support, coordinate with and leverage subject matter experts, facilitate Engineering, actively engage in problem resolution, proactively manage your capital budget thru approvals, develop a viable construction plan/schedule, negotiate and execute on commercial contracts, investigate optimization opportunities.Support in the creation of, take ownership over, and actively manage not only each individual Solar project capital budget, but balance +/- variances across your portfolio of projects.Engage in a variety of software applications to support your activities, manage critical data and deliverables as well as report on key indicators.Support the larger Early-Stage team with process, tool, and training initiatives.Actively communicate and interface with Executive Leadership, Suppliers, Regulatory Agencies, Local Communities, and other stakeholders.Key QualificationsConstruction, Energy Industry, and/or Solar experience is a plusBachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or EngineeringProject Management ExperienceStrong financial and data analysis skillsetMechanical awareness and/or interest in technical variablesHighly OrganizedProactive attitudeInherent ability to manage fast paced high stress environmentJob OverviewThis position is responsible for the overall management of the team and assigned projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Employees in this role manage the engineering, procurement and construction oversight-activities necessary to develop, license/permit, erect, start-up, and commence commercial operations.Job Duties & Responsibilities• Works collaboratively with resources in various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans• Meets corporate objectives with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources• Manages department resources to provide effective early-stage project development support• Ensures projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies• Manages walk down of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approves contractor payment requests• Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocations, assesses field status and resolves issues as needed• Leads project meetings and reviews budget, risk tracker, and contingency allocations• Interfaces with project's designated management committees, or acts as Executive Director of project activities• Supervises activities and/or coordinates activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, and analysis and contract administration• Oversees commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources• Performs other job-related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience• Experience: 6+ yearsNextEra EnergyNextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
