Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2620 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 5 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
Candidates with 3 years of experience may be screened.
Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias is required.
Trauma experience is required.
Blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, insulin, PCA, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, Emerson/Pleur-Evac chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac are required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:
RNs only: Clinicians who obtained an RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Preferred Credentials:
BSN preferred.

Unit Details:
Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
Patients come from the ED, OR, or ICU.
Geriatric trauma patients are age 55 and older.
Trauma cases include abuse/violence victims, MVA, MVC, and falls.
Acute care surgery includes appendicitis, gallbladder cases, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, and traumatic brain injury.
Equipment includes lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators.

Shift & Scheduling:
BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
No more than 7 days of RTO per 13 week contract.
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
No call.

Floating Requirements:
Float within the service line to meet facility needs.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
