Maintenance Shift Technician As the Maintenance Shift Technician you will perform maintenance related tasks to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical and mechanical equipment. The position is a senior craftsman level job and requires shift work. Responsibilities ESH Compliance – Use PPE, follow plant safety procedures, complete all regulatory ES&H training, use permits, hoisting and rigging of equipment, RCRA introductory/orientation and annual refresher training, inspect RCRA waste storage areas, operate hazardous waste equipment, package, label, store, load and ship hazardous wastes, ensure manifest and documentation, respond to incidents, maintain equipment, demonstrate hazardous waste qualifications, be able to exit the plant in an emergency. Communications – Communicate with operating personnel, enter emergency work orders on off shifts, use email, provide feedback on work orders and PM tickets, use technical manuals, blueprints, engineering sketches, serve as maintenance representative on plant projects, assist or be guided by another mechanic on specific jobs. Electrical Responsibilities – Understand 480V and lower electrical systems, knowledge of circuits, wiring, controls and loop drawings, use common electrical tools, understand motors and motor systems, interpret P&ID drawings, use basic instrumentation (level, flow, temperature and PLCs). Repair and New Construction – Basic mechanical knowledge, understanding of mechanical drives, install new piping (screwed), repair mechanical conveying, operate maintenance equipment, knowledge of centrifugal pumps, locate and pull parts from storeroom, complete all job responsibilities in a timely manner. Quality Control – Follow maintenance procedures, understand material construction, prevent product contamination through good manufacturing practices, complete housekeeping subject to ISO/AIB standards, follow cGMP requirements. General Plant Responsibilities – Maintain housekeeping standards, access documentation, record time in payroll software, access plant email system, complete required training courses, assist in training new maintenance personnel. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least 2 years of dual craft experience. Successful completion of Mechanical and Electrical Selection Process. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Employees are required to wear appropriate PPE based on the task and environment, including safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face masks, and when necessary full hazmat suits with respirators.
