Senior MRI Technologist: Complex Scans & Mentorship

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST I Open‑pooled position: Applicants’ education and experience will be considered, and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level as appropriate. Location: Galveston, Texas (United States). Primary location – 0711 – John W McCullough Bldg. Level – Night Shift. Employee status – Non‑Manager. Shift type – Standard. Work schedule – Friday through Sunday, 8:00 pm to 8:30 am. Job description: The MRI Technologist I performs a variety of routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, including common and specialty exams of moderate complexity, in inpatient, emergency, and hybrid operating room settings. The role provides direct assistance to physicians, delivers exceptional patient care, and adheres to MRI exam standards and safety guidelines established by governing agencies. The technologist is an independent member of the direct patient care team. Qualifications Completion of an MRI training program, including the UTMB MR Training program or equivalent. 0+ years of experience. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications American Heart Association (BLS). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT‑MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Must be MRI certified or MRI registry‑eligible at time of hire. Registry‑eligible candidates must obtain MRI certification through ARRT or an equivalent body within six (6) months of hire. The position includes mentorship of Technologist I and students, independent decision‑making, and direct assistance to physicians in diagnostic and specialty MRI procedures. The technologist must demonstrate advanced clinical skills and deliver exceptional patient care while adhering to safety and quality standards. Qualifications Completion of an MRI training program, including the UTMB MR Training program. Proficiency in advanced interventional and diagnostic MRI cases of the head, cardiac, prostate, and breast. 3+ years of experience. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications American Heart Association (BLS). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT‑MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
