A Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is an advanced perioperative nurse who works directly with the lead surgeon in the operating room. RNFAs manage patient care before, during, and after surgery. They help perform safe, fast operations by controlling bleeding, holding tissue, and closing wounds.
