Safety Coordinator

Retro Environmental is one of the Mid-Atlantic's leading Selective Demolition and Environmental Remediation contractors. We are looking for an energetic, motivated Field Safety Coordinator to join our growing Safety Department.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a carer in construction safety. You'll work alongside experienced safety professions, spend your time visiting job sites, coaching crews, identifying hazards, and helping ensure every employee returns home safely each day.

Salary range is from $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 commensurate with experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Visit job sites throughout Maryland
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits
• Coach employees on safe work practices
• Assist with OSHA compliance
• Help conduct accident and near-miss investigations
• Assist with new hire orientations and safety training
• Verify PPE compliance
• Assist with Jobe Safety Analyses (JHAs)
• Complete safety documentation and inspection reports
• Monitor corrective actions until completed
• Assist with maintaining OSHA logs and safety records
• Build positive relationships with field employees and supervisors
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the company

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of construction or safety experience preferred
• OSHA 30 Construction (or willingness to obtain)
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Willingness to travel throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC
