Position Lecturer Pool – Department of Criminal Justice Type and Availability Temporary, Part‑time. Academic Year 2026/2027. Available: Fall 2026 / Spring 2027. Contact Lindsay Nelson‑Burkert, Department Chair – View email address on click.appcast.io Position Description The Department of Criminal Justice accepts applications on an ongoing basis for part‑time lecturers. Applicants are placed in a pool that may be used to fill temporary positions from one day to a semester. The pool is for the current academic year and closes on May 31, 2027. Applicant Pool Policy Positions are appointed as needed throughout the academic year. Applicants must re‑apply for the next academic year. Minimum Qualifications Master‑s degree in criminal justice or a closely related field. Demonstrated subject‑matter competence appropriate to the courses to be assigned. Ability to teach in person at the Bakersfield campus. Preferred Qualifications Terminal graduate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or MPA). Prior college teaching experience. Relevant professional experience in the field, including supervisory, leadership, or management training. Experience with Canvas. Ability to work with diverse student populations. Rank and Salary A Lecturer at the University. Salary ranges are based on rank (Lecturer A or B) and prorated for part‑time assignments. General ranges: Lecturer AY (Range2): $5,507–$6,677. Lecturer AY (Range3): $6,221–$13,224. Lecturer AY (Range4): $6,825–$14,523. Lecturer AY (Range5): $8,593–$15,211. Application Process Please apply online via the CSUB Careers site.
