Job Description

GDG HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORResponsible for operating full-size excavators (CAT 340 or similar) and wheel loader (CAT 982 model or similar) to support mining operations, including material extraction, loading, and site preparation. Ensure safe, efficient production while maintaining equipment and adhering to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
  • Operate full-size excavators for digging, trenching, and material extraction
  • Operate wheel loaders for loading haul trucks, stockpiling, and site cleanup
  • Load and move ore, waste material, and over burden efficiently
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all assigned equipment
  • Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues promptly
  • Maintain proper grade, slope, and excavation standards
  • Follow all MSHA safety regulations and site-specific procedures
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and other operators
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements
  • Proven experience operating full-size excavators and wheel loaders required
  • Knowledge of mining operations and material handling techniques
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety and hazard awareness
  • Ability to work in physically demanding, outdoor environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • MSHA certification (part 48) ability to obtain
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements including a background check
  • Must be able to work long shifts, weekends and rotating schedules if required
