Job Description Job Description Description: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Operate department I/D Grinders, O/D Grinders, Centerless Grinders and Blanchard Grinders * achieve 8 hours of production per day * Monitor and maintain machine coolant and oil levels. * Become familiar with machine controls, job cards, blue sheets and procedures for next card operation. * Working knowledge of how to use required gages. * Must know the start, stop and emergency shut off buttons on machines. * Sump out machines and maintain housekeeping in within the department. * Measure and compensate for the fluctuation in parts size. * Use precision measuring instruments, using blueprints and instructions. * Maintain ISO-9001 2008 Certification Standards. * Maintain required production standards COMPETENCIES; * Honesty/Ethical behavior - demonstrates honest, open communications and maintains a high level of integrity in dealing with internal and external customers. * Critical thinking - examines situations/problems with a critical eye and develops effective solutions. * Technical knowledge & skills - shows proficiency in area of expertise and willingness to learn and grow. * Interpersonal Understanding - Builds positive, strategic relationships between one's area and other areas of the company * Achievement/Results oriented - sets goals and meets goals in a timely manner * Adaptability - maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in personal work tasks or work environment SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES USE THE FOLLOWING DEFINITIONS FOR ALL CHARTS IN PART TWO OCCASIONALLY: 1% - 33% FREQUENTLY: 34% - 66% CONTINUOUSLY 67% TO 100% LIST THE TYPE OF EQUIPMENT USED FOR THIS POSITION AND INDICATE THE FREQUENCY OF USE: TOOL/EQUIPMENT OCCASIONALLY FREQUENTLY CONTINUOUSLY Micrometer's/calipers x Wrenches/hand tools x Dial bores x WEIGHT REQUIRED TO BE LIFTED EACH NORMAL WORKING DAY: Up to 40 pounds REPETITIVE USE OF HANDS: SIMPLE GRASPING x PUSHING/PULLING x FINE MANIPULATION x SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: SPEECH x VISION x SMELL x TOUCH x HEARING x ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF EACH NORMAL WORK DAY: HOURS SPENT: INSIDE: 8 OUTSIDE: 0 Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Pass required Company prescreening assessments, possess good problem solving skills and ability to read required gages and tools. Must have a minimum 1-3 years Grinder experience. Machinist Technical School course work and/or mechanical experience desirable. Operate production equipment and the ability to use micrometers, calipers, SPC charting and other gauges. Lift up to 40 pounds without assistance, reaching, bending and standing for long periods of time is also required. Availability for overtime hours and flexibility for schedule changes as needed or required
