VP, Medical DirectorThe VP, Medical Director is responsible for providing medical, scientific, and strategic leadership for clients and internal teams. This person serves as a senior medical voice across the agency, helping translate complex science, clinical data, and brand objectives into clear, accurate, and compelling medical communications.In this role, the VP, Medical Director will partner closely with account, strategy, creative, editorial, and regulatory teams to guide the development of medical advertising materials that are scientifically accurate, strategically sound, and aligned with client goals. They will provide senior-level medical counsel, support strategic recommendations across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, and help ensure the quality, medical accuracy, scientific integrity, and timeliness of assigned work.Here at the Medical team, we are the academics of the agency, and the power of science flows through every decision. Our influence goes beyond the agency too, as clients, stakeholders, and Medical/Legal/Regulatory review teams look to us for insight, guidance, and confidence.ResponsibilitiesProvide medical, scientific, and strategic expertise to clients and internal teamsServe as a senior medical partner across assigned accounts, helping guide the development of accurate, compelling, and strategically relevant medical communicationsDemonstrate in-depth understanding of therapeutic areas such as immunology, oncology, hematology, and other complex disease statesSupport large AOR accounts by providing medical guidance across brand strategy, campaign development, content creation, and client deliverablesOversee the development of medical advertising materials created by Razorfish HealthTake responsibility for the quality, medical accuracy, scientific integrity, and timeliness of assigned projectsReview and edit medical content prior to client, internal, or MLR submissionDirect writers and content developers in the creation of original medical contentHelp ensure compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory review processesPartner with account, strategy, creative, editorial, and regulatory teams to ensure work is medically sound and aligned with client objectivesInteract with clients, healthcare provider experts, and internal agency teams both in person and remotelyPresent medical rationale, scientific insights, and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholdersParticipate in new business pitches and contribute medical expertise to prospective client opportunitiesMentor and guide team members, helping elevate the quality of medical thinking and content across the agencyQualificationsAdvanced degree in healthcare, medicine, or a related scientific field, such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DDS, or equivalent advanced degreeAt least 5 years of agency, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry experienceExperience working on pharmaceutical advertising accounts, with AOR experience preferredStrong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing principles, regulations, and practicesExperience developing, reviewing, and guiding medical advertising materialsStrong writing and editorial skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear and compelling contentExceptional verbal, written, and presentation skillsAbility to provide medical, scientific, and strategic counsel to clients and internal teamsComfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, including account, strategy, creative, editorial, and regulatory partnersStrong client service orientation and ability to build trusted relationships with clients and healthcare expertsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agency environmentStrong time management and organizational skillsThorough, scientifically curious, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across accountsAbility to participate in new business opportunities and present confidently to prospective clientsThe ideal candidate is a senior medical leader who can combine deep scientific expertise with strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a collaborative agency approach. Compensation Range: USD $159,695.00 - USD $255,645.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.
