Laboratory Technician, Entry

As a Technician you will contribute to the synthesis of polymers and other materials used to create coatings. Youll conduct experiments collect and analyze data and maintain a clean safe and efficient laboratory environment. Working closely with a supervisory chemist youll receive detailed instructions for specific procedures but will take ownership of prioritizing your daily tasks ensuring productivity and upholding rigorous safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up reaction equipment and handle chemical reactants safely
• Perform analytical measurements and record detailed experimental results in a laboratory notebook
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory including proper waste disposal and equipment cleaning
• Order laboratory supplies and manage inventory as needed
• Follow strict safety protocols including the daily use of personal protective equipment and occasional respirator use
• Collaborate with a supervisory chemist while independently organizing and prioritizing your workload

Qualifications

• High school diploma with coursework in chemistry required; bachelors degree in a scientific or technical field
• 1 years of laboratory experience
• Commitment to working safely with hazardous materials and maintaining accuracy and organization
