Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, with night shifts and weekend rotation.

Job Details

• 30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with all private rooms, operating 24/7,
• Primary patient population includes Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule-out MI, syncope, and pacemaker placement,
• Secondary patient population includes respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP-dependent patients,
• Rooms are remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD),
• Patient ratios are 1:4 for patients on drips or BiPAP, and 1:5 for standard patients,
• Scheduling is managed over 6-week periods via a self-assisted scheduling system (Optilink), distributed based on departmental need, patient acuity, skill mix, and prior assignments,
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30,
• Weekend rotation required; holiday coverage as needed,
• Epic EMR required,
• Nurse Assistants available 24/7; RN Secretary coverage 07:00-23:00,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Cardiac PCU experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring required,
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care required,
• Skills required include: peripheral and PICC line care and management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson and Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy management,
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred,
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred,
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration,
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
