Director of Product, Pricing & Supply Chain

The Product Director at PGI is a strategic leadership role that sits at the intersection of product, sourcing, pricing, and operations. This role is not just logistics — it is full ownership of the product lifecycle, ensuring that PGI maintains competitive and profitable pricing, reliable and scalable supply, strong supplier partnerships, and high inventory efficiency. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Market Intelligence & Pricing Strategy Global raw material costs (origin-level) Market trends and volatility (spices, herbs, botanicals) US sellable price benchmarks and margin structures Work closely with Sales & Finance to: Support pricing strategy Protect and improve gross margins Maintain real‑time visibility on cost vs. market pricing gaps Demand Planning & Supply Alignment Forecast based on pipeline, historical data, and growth targets Translate demand into procurement plan Ensure supply readiness for key accounts and strategic growth opportunities Inventory Management & Optimization Stock levels: product velocity (fast/slow movers), reorder points and safety stock Optimize working capital while maintaining service levels Ensure accurate ERP (Odoo) setup: product coding, cost structures, attributes (origin, certifications, specs) Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers Lead supplier selection & evaluation, negotiation (pricing, terms, capacity), and performance monitoring (quality, delivery, compliance) Develop strategic sourcing partnerships, especially for organic‑certified ingredients and high‑growth product categories Product Ownership & Lifecycle Management Take full ownership of PGI’s product portfolio from sourcing to processing to inventory to sales Maintain deep understanding of product specifications, processing cycles (e.g., grinding, steam sterilization), shelf life and quality parameters Identify opportunities for new product development and value‑added formats (TBC, powder, blends, etc.) Supply Chain Operations Leadership Develop and lead the supply chain team, including logistics coordination and order execution support Oversee end‑to‑end flow: purchase orders → inbound logistics → warehouse → production → outbound Ensure smooth coordination between suppliers, operations/production, sales, and customer service New Product & Service Development Maintain pulse on market demand trends, new ingredient opportunities, and service expansion (e.g., sterilization, toll processing) Collaborate cross‑functionally to launch new SKUs and expand PGI’s portfolio strategically QUALIFICATIONS 7–10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or product management Experience in food ingredients, spices, botanicals, or agriculture commodities Strong understanding of global sourcing, pricing dynamics, and inventory management Preferred : Experience with organic‑certified supply chains (NOP, EU Organic) Familiarity with ERP systems Background in B2B ingredient business CORE COMPETENCIES Strategic thinking with strong operational execution Strong analytical skills (pricing, cost, inventory) Leadership and team development Negotiation and supplier management Cross‑functional coordination (sales, operations, finance) High ownership mindset (“acts like a business owner”) SUCCESS METRICS (KPIS) Gross margin improvement (%) Inventory turnover & stock accuracy Stock‑out rate / service level Supplier performance (OTIF‑On Time In Full, quality) Forecast accuracy Working capital efficiency Pure Ground Ingredients is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
