Shift Lead

Shift Lead – Planet Fitness Reporting to the General Manager, the Shift Lead supervises coworkers during their shift, monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with company and safety policies, and delegating tasks. The Shift Lead maintains high performance, quality, and safety standards while ensuring a high‑energy, welcoming environment in the Judgement Free Zone. Skills Required Customer Service: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills by interacting with customers, coworkers, and the public, exceeding expectations and addressing their needs. Communication: Practices active listening, engages fully with customers, shows empathy, understands their perspectives, and collaborates to find solutions. Problem Solving: Identifies and defines issues, analyzes information, explores alternatives, and develops actionable plans, seeking guidance when necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Organize shift schedules for team members. Monitor attendance, tardiness, and time off. Assign duties to employees based on role and skills. Supervise employees and assist with tasks as needed. Supervise performance and share feedback with upper management and team members. Train new and current team members on tasks. Handle customer issues and manage conflicts. Adhere to company policies and health, safety, and employment standards. Uphold integrity and security with member documents and sensitive information. Manage club cleanliness and maintenance to ensure all aspects of the club are in like‑new condition. Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals in compliance with PCI policy. Physical Demands Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts. Frequent walking throughout the facility. Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Reaching, bending, and kneeling as needed for stocking and cleaning tasks. Ability to work in a busy, noisy fitness environment. Occasional exposure to standard cleaning products; safety procedures and protective equipment are provided.
