About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital setting required. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: AHA/ American Heart Association or ARC/ American Red Cross Basic Life Support required. Must-Have: - Patient care experience in general, gyn, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT. - Heparin experience. - EPIC electronic medical record experience. - Recent/current Level I trauma experience preferred. - Recent/current Level II trauma experience required. - Completed a travel contract in the past 24 months. Description: The position requires the Registered Nurse to work in a Medical Surgical environment. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients in a variety of medical and surgical situations. The bed size on the unit will range from 24 to 26, with a patient ratio of 1:4-6 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. The nurse will manage patient care experiences across disciplines including general, gyn, breast, and abdominal procedures. Nurses will be expected to float across various campuses as needed. The role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Applicants should be prepared to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. All candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility based on the driver's license to comply with local radius rule. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and willingness to adapt to changes in patient care needs.
