Responsibilities include the preparation of food in accordance with the established recipes and industry standards at the CCCC food and beverage department.Essential Job DutiesPrepares an extensive variety of cold and hot food items utilizing standardized recipes and portions foods as specified.Maintains the integrity of CCCC by watching plate presentations, and keeping all recipes confidential.Assists with set-up of kitchen before shift and tear down at end of shift.Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production in the pantry area.Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition at all times.Consistently complies with all state, local and agency laws/policies regarding the sale and disposition of alcoholic beverages.Assume other duties as assigned by supervisor.Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.Supports and exhibits the established organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people.Work as scheduled.Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.QualificationsPosition RequirementsThree to five years' experience in a banquet, restaurant or catering facility. High School or trade school diploma desired, but not necessary. Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality. Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary.Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival.CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days.Physical RequirementsRequired to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, twist, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tool, or controls and reach with hands and arms.Occasionally required to walk on uneven grounds.Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.Specific vision abilities are required and include close vision and ability to adjust focus.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Working ConditionsMost activities will be performed indoors.Driving to other park facilities will require the worker to be outside.Employee may be exposed to cleaning agents and toner chemicals.BenefitsPart-Time employees receive a variety of recreational benefits including an Individual Health and Fitness Center membership and Individual Pool membership.
