About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience required License: Pending license accepted on a case-by-case basis Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS PALS TNCC Must-Have: Previously charge experience preferred Epic charting system experience strongly preferred Description: Required ratios: 4 patients per nurse during shifts. Experience with trauma level I or II is preferred. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius will not be accepted. Management of acute psychosis and BiPAP/CPAP is required. Candidates must be able to provide care for ventilated patients. Central line care and management skills are essential. Candidates should be proficient in chest tube management. Knowledge of continuous IV sedation and drug overdose management is necessary. Candidates should have experience with emergency medications and interpreting dysrhythmias. Skills in patient triage and managing violent behavior are required. Experience with obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG is needed. Candidates must possess phlebotomy skills. Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience are required. Screening and managing suicidal patients is necessary. Patient care will involve adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census ranges from 145 to 155. Successful candidates will work in a unit with 56 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Candidates should be able to float within facility needs.
