Position Description

Are you someone who thrives on bringing projects to life behind the scenes? As a Project Engineer at Auburn Mechanical, you'll play a key role in supporting our project teams from preconstruction through closeout-keeping things organized, on track, and running smoothly.

In this role, you'll collaborate with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure every detail is aligned for success. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with people, and being part of a high-performing team, this is a great opportunity to grow your career.

What You'll Do

• Support project teams with day-to-day project administration and coordination
• Review project requirements, including estimates, proposals, and change orders
• Assist in preparing and analyzing mechanical cost estimates
• Help manage project documentation, contracts, and overall file organization
• Coordinate submittals, as-builts, and operations & maintenance manuals
• Assist with material and equipment procurement
• Support forecasting efforts, including labor planning and project financials
• Contribute to change order pricing and negotiations
• Assist with project billings and closeout activities
• Help coordinate commissioning and customer training
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year College in Construction Management, architecture, civil engineering or related business study; and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting or running key PE functions on mechanical (or related trade) construction projects
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, keep teams aligned, and move deliverables forward
• Strong communication skills and comfort partnering with field teams and office stakeholders
• Confidence working with drawings, specs, submittals, procurement, and change documentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools like Bluebeam/Project Software/CAD is a plus
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
