Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid certificate or credentials as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired preferred
• Proficiency in braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized instruction plans tailored to students’ specific visual needs
• Assess students’ functional vision and adapt curricula appropriately
• Support students with assistive technology and tactile learning tools
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure cohesive educational experiences
• Provide guidance and training to school staff about best practices for working with visually impaired students
• Document student progress and report on educational outcomes
