The Caretaker/Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining recreational areas, ensuring that all grounds and related facilities are kept clean, safe, and operational. This individual works independently, using various tools and equipment to perform property upkeep, repairs, and safety inspections at a 200 acre single site including 60 camp sites with water and electric. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance tasks with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular property maintenance and groundskeeping duties including mowing and weed control.
- Conduct repairs and upkeep of facilities and equipment
- Carry out safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness of the grounds
- Operate mowers, trimmers, snow removal equipment, hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
- Implement pest control measures as needed
- Clear snow and ice to maintain safe access
- Report maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in property maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in landscaping and equipment operation
- Basic carpentry skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of safety compliance standards
- Organizational skills
