Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | 26-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Telemetry setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, serving a population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Float to Med-Surg and other Telemetry units as needed
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, on-unit telemetry monitoring, and remote telemetry monitoring
• Manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs; administer heparin protocols and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Provide respiratory and thoracic care including ventilator management for chronic/long-term ventilated patients , tracheostomy management, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Participate in every-other-weekend coverage; utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required
• Ventilator experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
• Required certifications: ACLS , BLS , and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) — must be included with submission
• Candidates with license restrictions, disciplinary actions, board investigations, or background findings will not be considered
• Local candidates are welcome and will be considered at the travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Proficiency with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac) and non-invasive airway management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
