Water Asset Technician

They are currently hiring a Water Asset Technician to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This role is primarily local, working a typical 7AM-5PM schedule, with some intermittent travel early on for training and exposure before settling into full-time local work. No prior experience in this field is required- training is provided. This is a hands-on, outdoor job where you'll help find and fix leaks in underground water systems using specialized equipment.

Role overview:

This role is designed to start you off learning the tools, equipment, and technology used in water leak detection - all with full training provided. From there, there's a clear path to grow: technicians typically move into a Project Manager role, and eventually into a Senior Project Manager position. This isn't just a job, it's a career path with real room to advance if you put in the work.

What you'll actually be doing:

-Using equipment to listen for and locate leaks in underground water pipes

-Walking your assigned area to inspect and test the water system

-Filling out simple daily reports and paperwork

-Following safety procedures on every job

-Traveling to different job sites

-Taking care of your work vehicle and equipment

-Learning new tools and techniques as you go

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED

-Comfortable working outside, in all kinds of weather

-Able to walk several miles a day and lift up to 20 lbs

-Basic computer skills (email, typing, etc.)

-A valid driver's license and a clean driving record

-Able to pass a drug test

-Self-motivated - someone who can be trusted to do the job right without someone standing over your shoulder

Compensation & Benefits:

-$20-$25/hr ($45k-$55k)

-Regular overtime pay

-$60 per diem a day when traveling

-Company pays for all your travel, hotel, gas, and flights when you're on the road - none of that comes out of your pocket
