RN – part time days | The Ranch at Dove Tree | Lubbock, Texas About the Job Purpose Statement: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to clients, supervising care treatment and services of client care provided by LPNs, CNAs and other staff on the assigned unit and shift. The RN develops, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care for each client, conducts assessments and re‑assessments, communicates appropriate information with the interdisciplinary team, and reports client concerns and changes in condition to the supervisor and/or provider promptly. Roles and Responsibilities Provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of clients, develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain medical records, and educate clients and families about physical and behavioral health conditions while ensuring client safety at all times. Assesses clients’ status on an ongoing basis and communicates findings to providers promptly. Ensure nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs; complete initial treatment plan upon admission. Obtain provider orders accurately, document appropriately, and verify all required elements per policy and procedures. Accurately administer medications, per order, using at least two client identifiers and notify providers of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, pertinent lab results, or medication response. Assess and document effects of PRN medications and maintain accountability of medication administration, recording, control, and security, including narcotics. Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed. Confere regularly with the treatment team (nurses, therapists, program managers, provider) regarding client care. Attend and participate in unit activities such as therapy groups, family meetings, staffing, and unit meetings. Provide education on medication usage, common side effects, and client rights. Monitor client acuity, census, staffing needs, and raise coverage needs to supervisor/charge RN. Ensure thorough, accurate documentation for all clients on each shift and complete client assignment sheets daily. Communicate thorough hand‑off reports to oncoming staff and supervisors. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing. One or more years of nursing experience in the clinical area of service provided by the facility (preferred). Experience in a behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment is preferred. Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures. Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting. Licenses / Designations / Certifications Valid current RN license from the state or from a compact state, where applicable. Certified in Psychiatric Nursing (preferred). CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements. Work Location This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position. Supervisory Requirements This position is an Individual Contributor.
