About the Role Our client, a dynamic and innovative player in the global beauty and personal care market, is seeking a talented Cosmetic Formulation Chemist. You will be responsible for the research, development, and formulation of novel cosmetic and skincare products, driving innovation from concept to production. Key Responsibilities Develop innovative and effective cosmetic formulations for skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics. Conduct benchtop formulation trials, troubleshoot formulation issues, and optimize product performance. Research and evaluate new raw materials, ingredients, and technologies for potential product applications. Ensure all formulations comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards (e.g., FDA, EU regulations). Scale-up formulations from lab bench to pilot plant and full production. Collaborate with the R&D team to define product development objectives and timelines. Conduct stability testing and efficacy testing on developed formulations. Prepare technical documentation, including formulation recipes, manufacturing instructions, and safety data sheets. Work closely with the marketing team to understand market trends and consumer needs for product development. Stay updated on scientific literature, patent landscapes, and competitor product innovations. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in cosmetic formulation, with a strong portfolio of successfully launched products. In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functions, and interactions. Experience with various cosmetic product types (e.g., emulsions, suspensions, solutions, powders). Familiarity with cosmetic testing methodologies (stability, preservative efficacy, performance). Strong understanding of global cosmetic regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
