Local CDL Driver/ Yard Operations Crew Member Job Category: Skilled Labor Requisition Number: LOCAL003353 Apply now Posted : March 6, 2026 Full-Time On-site Locations Showing 1 location We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused CDL Driver / Yard Operations Crew Member to support both transportation and yard operations. This position will split responsibilities approximately 50% driving local intercompany routes and 50% performing on-site yard operational duties. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, compliant transport of materials between local company locations while also supporting daily yard activities including material handling, loading/unloading, and facility organization. Essential Functions: Safely operate company-owned commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required). Transport materials, equipment, and supplies between company locations (local routes, home daily). Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Ensure proper load securement and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws. Operate flatbed trailers as required, including properly securing and tying down loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards to ensure safe and compliant transport of materials. Report vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate repairs as required. Support other Lanco companies with local shipment moves as needed. Load and unload materials using forklifts or other yard equipment. Assist with organizing, staging, and inventorying materials in the yard. Support incoming and outgoing shipments and verify material accuracy. Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and warehouse areas. Follow all company safety standards and PPE requirements. Additional Responsibilities: Assist operations team with equipment preparation and material handling tasks. Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely movement of materials. Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies. Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs. Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred. Forklift and/or heavy equipment operating experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements. Ability to safely operation forklifts and other yard equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as required. Dependable, punctual, and team oriented. Physical and Environmental Elements: This position requires a combination of road travel and outdoor yard work. Exposure to varying weather conditions, equipment noise, and active industrial environments is expected. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate equipment for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical labor as required.
