Job Summary – Certified Medical Assistant II Float 5232 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034 – float pool; position will cover Grapevine and Irving regions. Schedule: Full time, weekdays. M–F, 8a‑5p. Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant II Float. Support physicians in providing high‑quality care. Responsibilities include patient care and maintaining records, dispensing medication, performing injections, recording vital signs, and gaining diverse experience. Essential Functions of the Role Assist clinics in various areas and provide needed support under a physician’s guidance. Prepare treatment rooms for exams by cleaning, restocking, and monitoring inventory levels for supplies, equipment, and instruments. Guide patients to the examination room and record important data for their medical records; prepare charts and forms. Measure patients’ vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height) and record them prior to exams, tests, and x‑rays. Perform routine patient testing (e.g., EKG, blood specimens, urine samples) and administer oral, rectal medications, injections, and vaccinations. Identify and report any adverse reactions; handling of controlled substances is not involved. Answer telephones, relay messages, and schedule patient appointments. Help with team meetings; manage workflows and schedules, train staff, proactively identify problems, and improve processes. Key Success Factors Can commute to local clinics regularly for assigned tasks efficiently, as directed. Possessing a certification from a recognized program such as AAMA or AMT is required. Well‑versed in delivering safe and accurate medical care. Understanding the five rights in healthcare (right medicine, right patient, right dose, right time, right documentation). Ability to document patient details accurately, following organizational policies, regulations, and procedures; understanding of privacy laws. Ability to evaluate patients’ health and notify nurse of abnormalities. Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood. Understanding of medical terminology. Exceptional patient‑interaction skills, making patients comfortable and easing anxieties. Experience with phlebotomy is a plus. Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus. Ability to follow instructions from doctors. Familiarity with medical charts and records. Precision and close attention to detail. Qualifications Education: High‑school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: At least 2 years of experience; willing to work with Pediatrics. Certification / License / Registration Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from one of the following: National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, AAMP or AAH National Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from NAHP Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAC) from AMCA Benefits Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits. 401(k) savings plan with dollar‑for‑dollar match up to 5%.
