Plasma Center Nurse- RN

Position Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager, works under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role involves assessing donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and notifying donors of unsuitable outcomes. The specialist must be familiar with plasma collection regulations and support centre‑level environmental, health and safety (EHS) activities. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions during procedures and follow standard operating procedures for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support HepatitisB and SeasonalFlu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents. Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Maintain familiarity with plasma collection regulations and industry best practices. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits and Compensation Location: USA – TX – Lubbock. Hourly wage range: $31.68 – $43.56 (actual wage may vary by experience and qualifications).
