Job Details Radiology Technologist – Anadarko Hospital, Anadarko, OK 73005Position Type: Part-TimeEducation Level: CertificationTravel: NoneShift: AnyCategory: Radiology Job Purpose The radiology technologist performs radiological diagnostic procedures and provides clinical expertise to ensure quality imaging services are completed properly and with patient comfort. The technologist is responsible for obtaining radiologic images used by physicians for diagnosis, ensuring patient safety protocols, and participating in continuous quality improvement activities. Responsibilities Safely handle equipment and films. Determine suitable anatomical posture, positions, and shields for patients. Adjust X‑ray machine controls to produce radiographs of appropriate density, detail, and contrast. Position radiographic equipment at correct angle and height. Explain procedures and all steps to patients. Minimize hazards such as electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation. Produce X‑ray films for diagnosis of medical conditions. Read physician’s notes regarding exam purpose. Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams and surround exposed areas with radiation protection devices. Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and making necessary adjustments. Practice radiation protection techniques and use beam‑restrictive devices to minimize dose. Position patients and adjust immobilization devices as needed. Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements. Assist in maintaining basic records and reports with current documentation standards. Establish good working relationships within the department and with other departments. Perform EKGs, type report interpretations, send reports to requesting physicians, and file them according to departmental procedures. Perform other duties as requested within scope of practice. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred. Graduation from an AMA‑approved school of radiologic technology. Two (2) years’ experience in radiology preferred. Certification and Licensure Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Physical Requirements Prolonged standing and walking required. Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, tugging, and reaching. Adequate visual and auditory abilities are essential.
