Contract | Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection), and treatment for diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, septic shock, malignant neoplasms, encephalopathy, and diabetic foot ulcers
• Perform and manage clinical skills including accessing ports, central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, blood product administration, colostomy care, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), heparin and insulin drips, and non-invasive airway management
• Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to infection control protocols throughout patient care
• Float to similar units and alternate inpatient care locations as needed, including inpatient holding areas
• Document using EPIC, communicate via SBAR, and manage medications through PYXIS
• Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in make-up shifts for any called-out shifts; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
• Must be willing to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment; onsite training is available
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome; a local pay rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification already obtained
• Prior experience caring for oncology or chemotherapy patients in an inpatient setting
• Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
